Aston Villa midfielder Ciaran Clark is well aware of the importance of beating derby rivals Birmingham City.
Clark insists the passion for the derby fixture is evident at every level from the first team right down to youth level.
"It was always the same," Clark told Villa's website. "Gordon Cowans used to take us at U16s level and it was the exactly same as it is now.
"It's a massive game and everyone looks forward to it. You realise that from a young age not to lose the Blues game and that was something Gordon drummed into us.
"I've had a few fans coming up to me mentioning the game. I live in Sutton Coldfield where there are lots of Villa fans so I'd best keep them happy or I won't be able to show my face."
