Cioffi named Udinese coach after Sottil sacking

Gabriele Cioffi has been named new coach of Udinese.

Cioffi takes charge after today's dismissal of Andrea Sottil. He returns to the Zebrette after being in charge of season 2021/22. He has signed to the end of the campaign.

Udinese announced: "Udinese Calcio is pleased to announce the appointment of Gabriele Cioffi as the new first team coach. He has signed a contract that will tie him to the club until 30 June 2024 with an option for a further sporting season.

"For Mister Cioffi it is a return to the Bianconeri bench after the experience of the 2021/2022 season in which, at the helm of the team, he achieved 31 points in 22 games. With him

"The technical staff includes assistant coach Cristiano Bacci and match analyst Andrea Aliboni. Cioffi and his staff will direct the training session scheduled for this afternoon. The presentation of the new coach to the press is set for tomorrow, Thursday 26 October, at 11.30am in the press room of the Bluenergy Stadium. From the entire club, the warmest welcome back to Mister Cioffi and best wishes for good work."
