Chris Waddle puts hand up for Sheffield Wednesday job

Chris Waddle is keen on the manager's job at Sheffield Wednesday.

The 4-2 defeat away to Blackburn on Saturday caused further questions to be asked about the future of current boss Jos Luhukay, and that prompted Waddle to intervene on Twitter.

He stated: "I want the Wednesday job".

Waddle enjoyed a fine spell at Wednesday as a player between 1992 and 1996, making over 100 appearances for the club in the Premier League and impressing with his flair.

During a distinguished playing career, Waddle also played for Newcastle, Tottenham and Marseille among many others, while he was capped by England on 62 occasions.
