Chivas USA's Chiapas loanee Farfan determined to make it in Mexico

Gabriel Farfan has made it vehemently clear that he wants to become a quality player in Mexico's top flight.

The 25-year old midfielder is on a six-month loan with Chiapas FC from MLS side Chivas USA and has revealed that he is using his time in southern Mexico as a way to win a permanent deal somewhere in Liga MX.

"I was down here for a couple of years in the youth team at Club América and I didn't get to debut there, so after that I went to MLS and I always had it in the back of my mind to debut in the first division in Mexico," Farfan, who has yet to debut for los Jaguares, told

"Basically, it's like a showcase for me. I don't have much time on my contract with MLS, so hopefully after that I can find a suitor down here.

"My main goal is to make a name for myself in the Mexican league."
