Australian defender Scott Chipperfield scored an important goal in FC Basel's 2-1 victory over league leaders FC Zurich in the Swiss Super League. Zurich scored first through Eric Hassli after 14 minutes but that goal was canceled out in the 55th minute through Basel's Jurgen Gjasula.
Both teams were then reduced to ten men as two red cards were shown within 12 minutes of each other leaving the game poised on a gilt edge.
Enter Chipperfield who scored the winner in the 79th minute to give his club a valuable three points and cut Zurich's lead at the top of the table to two points.
It was Chipperfield's fifth goal in the league this season.
