The Chinese Football Association has appointed Gao Hongbo as the permanent coach of the national team.

Hongbo will take over the national team officially next week and replaces the last permanent China boss, Vladamir Petrovic, who was ousted from the job in June last year.

Since then, Yie Tiesheng has been put in place as caretaker but the Chinese Football Association have decided to go with Hongbo.

The 43-year old has had experience coaching in the Chinese Super League with Changchun Yatai who he led to the title in 2007.
