Gonzalo Jara has been banned for three matches after grabbing Edinson Cavani's bottom.
The Chile defender will miss his side's semi-final with Peru at the 2015 Copa America in his home country after CONMEBOL handed down a three-match suspension.
Mainz's Jara, formerly of West Bromwich Albion, Nottingham Forest and Brighton & Hove Albion, was brought to the attention of the disciplinary committee after he groped Cavani during the 1-0 win over Uruguay in the quarter-finals.
Cavani reacted by gently slapping Jara in the face which prompted the Paris Saint-Germain striker to receive a second yellow card.
Jara has been found guilty of unsportsmanlike behaviour and has also been given a fine of $USD7500 (£4,775).
Chile meet Peru in the final four in Santiago on Monday with Argentina taking on Paraguay in Concepcion on Tuesday.
