Bayerm Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal has slammed Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of their Russian showdown.

Vidal has ramped up tensions ahead of Chile's Confederations Cup semi-final clash with Portugal, by blasting Seleccao skipper Cristiano Ronaldo.

"Cristiano is a smart a**!'" Vidal told reporters in Russia. "For me he does not exist.

"I have already told my Bayern Munich team-mate [and Germany international] Joshua Kimmich that we will meet again in the final!"

Portugal claimed seven points in the group stage to secured a final four berth, with Ronaldo, somewhat bizarrely, named man of the match on each occasion.

Back-to-back Copa America winners Chile await in Kazan, with Germany facing Mexico in the other semi-final on Thursday.
