Reports suggest that Chicago Fire forward Mike Magee is taking some personal time away from the club.
The 29-year old reigning MLS MVP was not present in the Fire's training camp on Monday with varying reports suggesting he could either be taking personal time off or holding out for an improved contract.
The Daily Herald believes the former New York Red Bulls and LA Galaxy man wants a renegotiated deal after his agent Richard Motzkin requested some time off.
Last season, Magee earned a base salary of $185,000 but with the recent trade of Austin Berry to Philadelphia Union and the termination of Federico Puppo's contract, he could be in the market for a new and improved contract in 2014 and beyond.
