Chicago Fire release ex-Fulham striker Collins John

Chicago Fire have released former Fulham striker Collins John.

The Fire announced today that the club has released forward John and defender Krzysztof Krol. The Dutch and Polish players spent the 2010 season with the Fire.

"We would like to thank Collins and Krzysztof for their contributions to the Chicago Fire," said Fire Technical Director Frank Klopas. "We have mutually agreed with both players that parting ways is in the best interest of the players and the club. We wish them the best in their future endeavors."

John scored three goals and added one assist in 17 appearances with the Fire after being signed to a MLS contract on March 12.

Krol, who joined the Fire on a one-year loan deal from Jagiellonia Bia"ystok in the Polish Ekstraklasa, played in 19 matches, starting 17 of them, and provided one assist during his 2010 season with the Men in Red.
