Chicago Fire are chasing Wigan Athletic midfielder Shaun Maloney.
The former Aston Villa and Celtic attacker is a key player for Scotland and is on the shopping list of Premier League clubs.
However, Chicago Fire hope to tempt Maloney to the US for the 2015 season.
The Daily Express says Chicago will be able to offer him a lucrative two-year deal that will not be restricted by the MLS wage cap.
Maloney's current Latics deal expires in June.
