Denis Cheryshev was delighted after helping Valencia to victory in their opening LaLiga clash against Getafe.

Carlos Soler struck from the spot after Cheryshev had won a penalty. The goal arrived after Valencia saw Hugo Guillamon sent off.

Cheryshev said, "In the second minute we didn't think that a happy ending could come, but we had faith. With the support of the fans that we have missed so much, we were able to win.

"Following the sending off, we were very solid. We were good in defence. The team Not conceding is going to give us a lot of confidence. We have to continue with the same humility, hard work and sacrifice."

He added: "The coach told us that leagues are won by home games. At home we have to be very strong and solid -as we were, especially in the first half. We are very happy to see the fans again."
