Chelsea have made a move for Zenit St Petersburg defender Ezequiel Garay.
Garay is also wanted by Valencia as a replacement for new Manchester City signing Nicolas Otamendi.
Sky Italia says Chelsea have already opened talks with Zenit over a fee for the Argentine.
Garay is emerging as an alternative at Chelsea to Everton defender John Stones.
