Chelsea turn to Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi

Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi is interesting Chelsea.

The Sunday Mirror says Chelsea are considering Mustafi after being rebuffed in their bid for Leonardo Bonucci.

The 24-year-old centre-back was released by Everton manager David Moyes in 2012 but has since gone on to great success, winning the World Cup in 2014 and establishing himself as one of La Liga's finest defenders.

A German international, Mustafi was considered by Barcelona before the Spanish champions instead signed Lyon's Samuel Umtiti this summer.

There has been dialogue between Chelsea and Valencia all summer long with the Blues trying to secure Euro 2016 winner Andre Gomes.
