Chelsea teenager Kane to make most of Blackburn opportunity

Chelsea youngster Todd Kane hopes the lessons he learned at Preston will stand him in good stead for his month long loan with Blackburn Rovers. "It was a good experience (at Preston) of different philosophies of playing football," said the 19 year old. "Physically I feel like I've got stronger, playing with men every day and I've learnt a lot from them.

"It was different from being at Chelsea, obviously I was used to finishing training and doing a bit extra in the gym. At Preston the manager said I do the hours so I can get that little bit extra (fitness) and it might help after Christmas.

"I wasn't disappointed. I knew I was there to get some games and experience and I'm happy that I played five games and got five starts. I would have liked to play more but I thank Graham Westley for giving me the opportunity.

"League One is totally different to the Championship, it's more physical. In the Championship you get more time on the ball and hopefully I can show what I can do."
