Chelsea striker Danny Sturridge is grateful to the club's doctors for helping him recover from viral meningitis.

Sturridge has paid tribute to club doctor Dave Porter for keeping alive his Team GB dream after viral meningitis.

He said: "I was fortunate to have a doctor who saw the warning signs straight away and got me off to a hospital."
