Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud rules out Ligue 1 return

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud admits a late career return to France isn't on the agenda.

Giroud penned a new one-year contract with Chelsea in May after fielding interest from several French clubs.

The former Montpellier centre-forward told So Foot, "Of course there were requests.

"There was Marseille, Lyon, and then a little from Bordeaux. But I don't really want to come back to Ligue 1. I feel that I still have good years ahead of me in the Premier League.

"It's the most exciting championship for my profile."
