Chelsea step in as Liverpool stall on Veiga offer

Liverpool are pulling back from a move for Celta Vigo attacker Gabri Veiga.

The Reds are keen on the Spain U21 international, who can leave Celta for £30m.

However, the Daily Mail says Liverpool are yet to make a formal bid.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is a fan and has discussed signing the youngster with new sporting director Jorg Schmadtke. But no bid has yet been made.

Joining the interest, meanwhile, are Chelsea - where Veiga is considered as a raft of midfielders are sold off this summer.
