Chelsea skipper Terry overjoyed after netting in 400th appearance

John Terry spoke of his delight at scoring in his 400th league appearance for Chelsea on Sunday.

The 32-year old defender headed the Blues ahead in the 62nd minute at Stamford Bridge after Southampton had taken an early lead through Jay Rodriguez which was cancelled out by Gary Cahill ten minutes into the second half.

After the 3-1 win, which was made possible by Demba Ba's late offering, Terry was elated at contributing to a victory in his milestone match.

"It's very significant for me. It's a huge achievement to maintain it at a top club like I have," Terry told Sky Sports.

"I'm very proud of that. I'm thankful for the fans as well for sticking by me and the club as well. Hopefully there's many more to come this season and maybe next."
