Chelsea skipper John Terry is confident Michael Essien will bounce back from his knee injury.

The Ghana ­midfielder will be sidelined until at least January after damaging cruciate ­ligaments.

And Terry has spoken of his dismay at the cruel setback for Essien, who has now had two major knee injuries in as many years.

Terry said: "He's a great pro, he'll work hard and he will come back fit and strong."
