Chelsea have scrapped their end of season awards night.

The London Evening Standard says Blues management chose to cancel the ceremony at Stamford Bridge due to their poor season.

Instead, the winners for Player, Academy and Goal of the Season will be presented before kickoff against Newcastle in Sunday's season finale.

Thiago Silva is favourite to win the Player of the Year award, which is voted for by supporters.

Chelsea have not held an in-person awards night since 2019.
