Chelsea's Mourinho expects Inter legend Cambiasso to play Premier League football with Leicester again

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is backing Esteban Cambiasso to stay on with Leicester City once they secure Premier League football for next season.

The 34-year old Argentine midfielder joined the Foxes last summer after a stellar career with Inter Milan where he won two Serie A titles, the Champions League and one Coppa Italia under Mourinho.

Ahead of Wednesday night's clash between the two clubs at the King Power Stadium, Mourinho has tipped Nigel Pearson's Leicester side to remain clear of the bottom three enabling Cambiasso to play top flight football for at least another season.

"I won the treble with Cambiasso. He was fundamental in my golden team. He's one of the players who means a lot to me and he's been phenomenal for Leicester. I am very happy for him," said Mourinho.

"Next season, for sure, he will play for Leicester in the Premier League again. We spoke a few times, but not about advice really. He knows what he wants. He's a bright guy. I've not heard from him this week."

Leicester currently sit 17th on the league table, a point clear of third-bottom Sunderland, after winning their past four fixtures.
