Chelsea's Lampard: Visiting Marijana not complete waste of time

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard says visiting controversial Serb therapist Marijana Kovacevic wasn't a waste of time.

Lampard recovered quickly from an injury he suffered while away with England for the friendly against Brazil in Qatar.

Part of the midfielder's treatment included a trip to Serbia - but not for any placenta massage which Arsenal striker Robin van Persie had on his injured ankle.

"It has been a rapid recovery really," Lampard said.

"It was very small treatment out there. For me it wasn't anything extraordinary in terms of the placenta stuff, I didn't have any of that treatment.

"The trip to Serbia was by no means a trip which didn't help me at all and in fact it was quite an experience, but the real work was done at the training ground.

"I would like to give credit to our medical team, they are the best by far and they were the ones who really did it.

"I would have expected to be fit for the Manchester City game at first, but luckily enough we have got great doctors and physios, who have worked hard with me over the last week or so."
