Chelsea's Ancelotti: My job does not depend on Champions League

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti insists that his job does not depend on whether his team does or does not win the Champions League this season.

The Blues' quest for European glory took a hit on Wednesday night when Manchester United defeated them 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of the quarter-final and they will now need do something that has not been before - beat United at home after winning an away leg - to get to the semi-finals.

This is seen as a tough task and may be so, but Ancelotti says he is not worried about his position as manager of the London club.

"No, I don't think the decision on my future at the club rests on the Champions League," the Italian said.

"The club knows me, my behaviour, and they will take their decision on that. The only issue is that we're not doing as well as we started this season. But we've still got time to do our best."

Chelsea take on Wigan Athletic at home tomorrow and despite having the Champions League hanging over their head, Ancelotti says this one is vital.

"This is an important game and we have trained all week to prepare for this game," he added.

"We have to move on from the defeat against United to be focused on the next game. We have to maintain important concentration also. It's important to change our minds immediately because we need a good performance tomorrow."
