Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku has avoided serious injury.

Nkunku suffered a knee injury in their preseason draw with Borussia Dortmund this week in the US.

There were concerns the setback was serious.

But the London Evening Standard says early medical assessments are positive that he will not be placed on the long-term injured list.

However, Nkunku will miss the opening day Premier League clash with Liverpool next weekend.
