Chelsea are watching Espanyol midfielder Nico Melamed.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio claims representatives from the Premier League club have watched the teenager throughout the the campaign.

The versatile midfielder, 18, has scored seven goals for Espanyol's B side this season and featured for the first-team during their Europa League qualifier against FC Luzern.

Di Marzio several European heavyweights are also monitoring the Spain Under-19 international with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid interested.

Melamed renewed his contract with the Pericos on 29 April 2019, signing until 2023.
