Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas remains keen on Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell. The Mirror says Chelsea are in pole position to sign Rodwell from Everton but want the starlet's £20million price tag reduced.

Boss Andre Villas-Boas would like to take the midfielder in January but believes he's over-valued and could wait until summer if Everton play hardball.

Manchester United are also long-term admirers of the 20-year-old but are unwilling to go beyond £10m.
