Chelsea powerbrokers are growing increasingly confident of a reunion with Jose Mourinho. The London Evening Standard says the club have made Mourinho their new first-choice target to take charge next season after Pep Guardiola snubbed them in favour of a switch to Bayern Munich last month.
Mourinho is sure to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season and he's actively sought to fix his relationship with Blues owner Roman Abramovich.
One of the stumbling blocks regarding Mourinho has always been the fact that Abramovich paid the former Porto coach around £18million in compensation when he was fired and the Russian would be admitting to making an expensive mistake. That is no longer the issue but the power struggle of who makes the key decisions at the club will have to be addressed.
