Chelsea have joined Arsenal in their interest in Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande.

The Gunners made an attempt to sign the young stopper over the summer and remain keen.

Record says Chelsea are also interested and are watching Diomande ahead of the January market.

The 19 year-old is viewed by Chelsea as a potential successor for Thiago Silva.

A scout from Stamford Bridge attended Ivory Coast's 1-1 draw against Morocco on Saturday, which Diomande played the whole 90 minutes.

Interestingly, Chelsea have been in talks with Sporting about buying into the club.
