Chelsea are being linked with a move for wantaway Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij.

Il Tempo says Chelsea are leading the race for De Vrij's signature as manager Antonio Conte plans for the future at Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year-old is out of contract in 18 months and has made it clear to Lazio chiefs he has no intention of signing a new deal.

However, reports add that Bayern Munich are also interested despite arguably boasting the continent's finest partnership in Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels.

There's no indication as to which team De Vrij would prefer.
