Chelsea are close to securing the signature of Stephan Lichtsteiner, according to reports.

The Sun is of the belief that the Swiss defender has been offered a contract by incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte and it is expected that he will accept.

With Italian champions Juventus set to sign Dani Alves from Barcelona, the path has been cleared for right-back Lichtsteiner to leave Turin and make his way to Stamford Bridge.

The former Lille and Lazio star has been offered a three-year deal and the promise of regular first-team football by Conte.

Lichtseinen, 32, is currently in France with the Switzerland team for Euro2016 which kicks off this weekend.
