Chelsea midfielder Kante names two attacking greats as childhood inspirations

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante admits he looked up to two of the game's greats when growing up in France.

Speaking with the French Football Federation's website, Kante says two attacking talents were the players who inspired him as a child.

"And the icon who made the greatest impression on me? Ronaldo, the Brazilian," said Kante.

"I watched his goals on DVD. I liked his movements, his technique, his ease.

"He is a player that I really appreciated along with (Diego) Maradona."
