Chelsea midfielder Cork released from hospital

Chelsea midfielder Jack Cork was released from hospital yesterday.

Cork has been discharged from hospital his loan club Burnley have confirmed.

Due to illness the player was substituted at half-time in last night's England Under 21 match versus Iceland, held at Preston's Deepdale Stadium.

Burnley today (Tuesday) report the following on their official website:

"Jack Cork has been discharged from hospital after undergoing tests.

"The on-loan Clarets' midfielder stayed in hospital in Preston overnight after feeling unwell during the game.

"The 21-year-old was replaced and left the ground at half time with England under-21 coach Stuart Pearce confirming afterwards that he had been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure after suffering from 'palpitations.'

"Cork will continue to be assessed by club medical staff before returning to training at Turf Moor."
