Chelsea matchwinner Juan Mata admits they were fortunate to overcome Wigan Athletic.

Chelsea left it late to beat the Latics.

Mata said of his Wigan winner: "It was a little bit lucky, it's true.

"It was a tough game, tough game, fighting until the 90th minute, 92nd, because we tried to score to achieve three points.

"We suffered until the end but finally we have three very important points for us to be still fighting for the third and fourth position.

"We are Chelsea, and Chelsea never give up, and we showed it."
