Chelsea keeper Kepa suffers Spain axe

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has been snubbed by Spain for their World Cup qualifiers in March.

Kepa has been replaced as the Chelsea No1 by Edouard Mendy this season and he has now lost his place in the Spain squad to in-form Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

The 26-year-old, who cost Chelsea £71.6million two years ago, was linked with a loan move in January but he remained at Stamford Bridge and his lack of action has dented his hopes of being selected for the Euros this summer.

Kepa has made just one Premier League appearance in 2021 - a 2-0 win over Newcastle on February 15.
