Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has wished Petr Cech all the best after his move to bitter London rivals Arsenal.

New York City FC star Lampard was speaking during a Q&A session with Chelsea fans in a New York bar. when he commented on the Stamford Bridge departure of the Czech Republic goalkeeper who spent over a decade with the Blues.

'"We all know what a great goalkeeper he is and I think he was a fantastic pro," said Lampard of his former teammate.

"I've got to say last year I felt for him because I know when you get older you have to take things on the chin that you wouldn't have done in your mid 20's.

"What he did was hold himself with so much dignity and perform when he came in. I don't think there are many situations where as a group of Chelsea fans will say 'fair enough, good luck at Arsenal', but he's the one exception to the rule and we wouldn't have won the Champions League without him."
