Chelsea great Didier Drogba has suffered a blow in his bid to become president of the Ivory Coast Football Federation (FIF).
Drogba has been snubbed by the Ivorian footballers association (AFI). The General Assembly took place on Saturday and most members agreed to support Idriss Diallo's candidacy.
This undermines the former Chelsea striker's candidacy for the election scheduled for September 5.
The Touré brothers, however, have lined up with Drogba.
"Ivorian footballers playing in Europe are concerned about the current situation and do not understand why AFI does not seem to want to sponsor Didier Drogba," said Yaya Toure.
