Chelsea hero Drogba: Goal down, but Mata kept my spirits up

Didier Drogba says Juan Mata inspired him to be Chelsea's goal scoring hero in their Champions League final triumph.

Drogba admitted he feared the worst when Thomas Muller's 83rd-minute goal put Bayern on course to land a fifth European crown.

But it was Mata who did most to lift the striker's spirits.

Drogba added: "I was a bit down when they scored. But Juan Mata kept saying 'you have to believe, you have to believe' and that gave me a boost.

"And it paid off. He took a fantastic corner and I scored, so it was superb."
