Chelsea hero Ashley Cole has been released by LA Galaxy.

On Monday, LA Galaxy confirmed they have declined to exercise an option to re-sign the 37-year-old defender.

Cole signed for the club back in January 2016 and at the start of the 2018 campaign, the former Arsenal and Chelsea man was named captain.

And at the beginning of November, Cole was voted Player of the Year by the club's supporters.

But Cole's time with the Los Angeles outfit has come to an end and at the age of 37, he will now be weighing up his next career move or whether to retire.
