Chelsea have Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko top of their January shopping list.

A source close to the player has revealed to Foot Mercato that multiple Premier League clubs hope to lure him away from St James' Park.

It's also claimed that both Chelsea and Manchester City lodged respective bids for the £17m-rated 26-year-old during the transfer window, but were fended off by Newcastle.

The Magpies hope to convince their coveted French international to remain at the club by offering a significant increase to his £35,000 per-week wages.
