Former Chelsea and Leeds United star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has revealed that an opportunity to manage Championship club Queen Park Rangers was too lucrative to turn down.
The former Dutch international has succeeded Chris Ramsey, who was sacked by the club last month, at Loftus Road and is excited to be joining the R's family following a successful at the helm at Burton Albion.
"I'm very excited, and very privileged to be given this opportunity," he said.
"The club gives me a good feeling, and their ideas suit me. It's a good fit for me and I am very happy to be the chosen one, to be the head of the QPR family and to take them forward."
Hasselbaink was very impressive in his previous role as manager of Burton, winning the League Two title last season and leading them to the top of League One table in the current season.
"It was hard to leave Burton," he added.
"But when the opportunity came to manage and be head of this family, I had to take it. Football people will understand it was something that I couldn't turn down."
