Former Chelsea star Marcel Desailly has revealed that nice guy Claudio Ranieri is also capable of 'crushing' people if he is not happy.

Ranieri has conducted a wonderful job at Leicester City this season and his relaxed approach has certainly won him a lot of fans throughout the Premier League.

Frenchman Desailly played under Ranieri at Chelsea and has gone on to reveal that although the 64-year-old Italian has a cool persona, he is equally capable of demoralising the players if his expectations are not met.

"Ranieri is very strong with his coaching behaviour. He is a leader," Desailly said on beIN Sports.

"I have spent some time in Rome with him and seen his personal lifestyle, so I know the man himself and his family. He is low-profile, very cool and relaxed, but, as a coach, he is tough.

"If you try to go into his office to discuss things with him and you are not happy about something, he will push you, he will crush you.

"You will come out and, instead of thinking you have gained something, you are completely down and wondering, 'What is going on?'."
