Manchester City will not face competition from Chelsea for Boca Juniors fullback Valentin Barco.

City have been regarded as favourites to sign Barco in January.

However, it's been claimed Chelsea are challenging City for Barco's signature.

But transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has cooled the claims, insisting Chelsea are not involved in any signing battle.

The 19 year-old is on target to leave Boca in January.
