Yossi Benayoun looks likely to remain at Liverpool after Chelsea failed to follow-up their initial interest in him.

The Blues were heavily linked with the Israeli international last month, says the Daily Star.

Double winners Chelsea look sure to need to add a creative star, with England midfielder Joe Cole set to leave for free after his contract was allowed to be run down.

But after seriously considering 30-year-old Benayoun, the Blues appear to have cooled on the deal.

With four years left on his Anfield deal, Liverpool were reportedly asking £10m for the midfielder.
