Chelsea's hopes of becoming the first English club to have a 100% record from their group games ended with a 1-0 defeat away to Marseille. Chelsea had already qualified for the next stage of the Champions League but any hopes they had of becoming one of only five clubs to keep a 100% record ended with a late goal from the French outfit.
Marseille fully deserved their win as The Blues recent run of poor form continues which even two big appeals for penalties could not disguise.
Carlo Ancelotti's team put in an uninspired performance which was reflected in the goal they conceded.
Taye Taiwo's shot took a deflection leaving the Brazilian Brandao with a simple finish on 81 minutes.
If the Chelsea boss had hoped form and confidence would return with this game it's a case of back to the drawing board and a clash with Tottenham at the weekend.
