Chelsea doctor Carneiro banned from the bench

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly banned team doctor Eva Carneiro from match days.

The Portuguese tactician fumed at Carneiro during Saturday's 2-2 draw when Carneiro treated Eden Hazard on the pitch, forcing the Belgian star off the Stamford Bridge surface.

At the time, Chelsea had already lost goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to a red card meaning they were momentarily down to nine men as Swansea looked to hit on the counter.

According to Sky Sports, Mourinho has banned Carneiro from operating from the bench on game day, confining her to work only at the Cobham training ground.

After the match, Mourinho said of the incident on Sky: "Even if you are a kit man, doctor or secretary on the bench, you have to understand the game.

"You have to know you have one player less and when you go to the pitch to assist a player, you have to make sure your player has a serious injury.

"I was sure he hadn't a serious problem. He had a knock, he was very tired. But my medical department - on an impulse - was naive and left me with eight outfield players in a counter-attack after a set piece."
