Chelsea star Matt Miazga is in advanced talks with La Liga outfit Alaves about a possible loan move.
The defender only has a year remaining on his Blues contract, which does complicate matters.
However, Goal.com suggests that he may pen a one-year extension and then leave on loan.
Such a move would allow the player to gain first team football for the entire season, while protecting Chelsea's chances of getting a transfer fee for him next summer.
The American is 26 years old, but he has only made two appearances for Chelsea.
He has experienced loan spells at Vitesse, Nantes, Reading, and Anderlecht in the past five years.
