Chelsea defender Cahill fears for England position

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is reportedly worried his lack of first team action for the Blues could cost him his place in England's Euro 2016 squad.

The Daily Mail is reporting Cahill has been left frustrated by interim manager Guus Hiddink's decision to bench him in recent weeks.

Hiddink has opted to go with a starting centre-back pairing of John Terry and Kurt Zouma, leaving Cahill as their back up.

Cahill, who is being linked with Liverpool, is England manager Roy Hodgson's vice-captain and would be a shock omission from the Three Lions' squad for the European Championships in France, but it is understood the 30-year-old is genuinely concerned this may be the case.

The emergence of young Everton defender John Stones and Manchester United's Chris Smalling this campaign has heaped further pressure on Cahill to fight for his England spot.
