Chelsea defender Alfie Gilchrist has extended his contract at the London club by another year.
The 19-year-old, who was on the substitutes bench against Bournemouth on Sunday in the Premier League, had a year left on his deal.
Now he will have a contract until the summer of 2025, giving himself and the club more security.
Per the Evening Standard, Chelsea are eager to see if Gilchrist can make it into the first team.
There was an approach from Sheffield United in the summer for his services, but that bid was rejected.
There were also loan offers, but Gilchrist is happy to stick around and fight for game time.
