Chelsea have crashed out of the Carling Cup after a staggering defeat to the hands of Championship side Burnely.

The Blues went ahead after 27 minutes thanks to a great piece of play by Didier Drogba before Burnley scored a brilliant equaliser through Ade Akinbiyi.

The match was then tied up until the end of extra-time and a penalty shoot-out ensued.

A 5-4 result to the Clarets left the Stamford Bridge crowd stunned, the save by Brian Jensen to deny Chelsea's John Obi Mikel the final play in the fourth round fixture.
